Yes, you read that right. I assert we will need to miniaturize our products’ burden on buildings while having bigger experiences and faster delivery times which requires stronger materials.

Remember Ironman’s super-cool digital screens inside his ocean-side lair? Well today, thyssenkrupp announced that our service technicians will use HoloLens technology in its elevator service operations worldwide.

There is no getting around it. If your building is two stories or hundreds of feet, you are going to need an elevator. You have to meet the American Disabilities Act codes but what you don’t need is a complicated elevator system to travel just a few feet.

The term “smart city” can be open to interpretation. Here are a few prerequisites established a few years ago.  A smart city uses technologies to be more intelligent and efficient when using resources.

thyssenkrupp is currently putting the finishing touches on the installation of 30 elevators and 2 escalators that will serve 52 floors at River Point, a new office tower located on a prime piece of property overlooking the Chicago River.

ThyssenKrupp Elevators’ green-e certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) program helps you earn LEED energy and atmosphere green power points.

We understand how important your investment in the LEED rating system is. That is why, as your partner, we will purchase RECs in the estimated amount of energy our elevators consume and help you promote the use of cleaner energy from renewable sources like wind, solar, hydro, and biomass.

What is a RECs

Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) represent the property rights to the environmental, social, and other non-power qualities of renewable energy generation.  1 REC is generated with every 1 mWh of clean power generated and they are then traded as a commodity to help fund more clean power.  They help keep track of clean energy, even after it goes onto the electricity grid. The more “clean” sources used to power the grid, the fewer polluting sources are used. This helps increase the demand for renewables and cleaner sources of electricity, leading the way to a cleaner environment.

ThyssenKrupp will purchase RECs on our customers’ behalf in the amount elevators consume energy to ensure renewable energy is put onto the power grid elsewhere on behalf of your building. There is no more cost- effective and hassle- free way to make a positive impact on our environment and earn LEED Energy and Atmosphere Points.

Benefits of RECs

• Offset carbon emissions generated by traditional production of electricity

• Access to renewable energy regardless of location

• Provide additional revenue stream for renewable generators and allows them to be competitive with fossil fuels

• Allows the benefits of renewable energy to be “stored”

• Provide LEED point opportunity
